With her education in indigenous plants and South African biodiversity and extensive experience in education and curriculum development, Wendy Hitchcock is an asset to any environmental education programme. Beyond her knowledge and technical skills, her passion and excitement for helping people engage with their environment sets her apart as a force to be reckoned with in environmental education.

Over the last 20 years, Wendy has facilitated teacher training workshops for the Primary Science Programme and the City of Cape Town Youth Environmental School programme; developed curriculum and training resources for Kirstenbosch Botanical Garden and the Greenpoint Park Biodiversity Showcase programme; and designed and run countless environmental outings, activities and courses for both children and adults.

In her capacity as an expert in fynbos education, she has worked with BiomimicrySA on one of their design challenges, and guided students from Penn State university through a fynbos orientation programme. She has also authored a book on environmental activities for learners at Edith Stevens Wetland Park.
